Deep beneath the shattered cliffs of Hyreth, within the vaults of an old arcane order, an explosion tore through what remained of civilized magic. Known only as the Aetherhold Incident, the surge that followed unraveled bindings both magical and mortal. Scrolls burned, time slipped sideways, and the blast fractured more than walls. It melted the laws of magic. Fragrance, once mere scent, became essence—memory, power, emotion. The Arcane Laboratory, reduced to charred scrolls and floating amber shards, was lost... but three artifacts remained:
